Meet the Team

Julia is a designer for Canright Communications, receiving her BFA from the University of Michigan. While at U of M, Julia focused her studies in graphic design and worked for the University Unions Graphic Design Office creating marketing initiatives for the Division of Student Affairs. Julia’s undergraduate thesis work, titled Direct Ambivalence, was a study of interpersonal communication, the nature of greeting card exchange and print design. On campus, Julia engaged in freelance projects with the University, including the University of Michigan Asks You Campaign and other marketing materials for student run operatives.

Julia’s design experience also includes a summer internship at the Toledo Museum of Art and a semester abroad at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague in the Graphic Design and Visual Communication atelier under Czech designer Rostislav Vanek.

When she is not working in the office, Julia enjoys cooking, taking yoga classes, and is a weekly tutor at Fourth Presbyterian Church. Julia is currently pursuing advanced training in art direction and design at the Chicago Portfolio School.
