Meet the Team
Mark brings to Canright Communications over 25 years experience in business and technical writing. He creates user and administrator guides, white papers, online help tools, design and plan documents, diagrams, database descriptions, online procedures, and other technical reference materials. Mark’s job is to ask questions. He figures out what the reader needs to know and then makes sure that knowledge is easy to find and understand. The fun part of Mark’s job is the heavy lifting, figuring out complex concepts related to finance and technology and then finding a way to explain them clearly to others.
Mark also has a background in editing and research, and in historical writing. He is equally passionate about the City of Chicago and about Medieval and Renaissance music. In his free time he enjoys concerts and lectures, riding his bike everywhere, and playing recorder.
Mark has a degree in Communications from Wheaton College (Wheaton, Illinois) and two master’s degrees, one in English Literature from Northwestern University and the other in Library Science from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.
Mark recently recommended Byzantium: The Surprising Life of a Medieval Empire by Judith Herrin
