Some of My Favorite Letters Are on Underware

Underware is a design studio specializing in typography and located in the Netherlands. Ever since I saw their typeface Sauna, I’ve kept tabs on what they’re up to. Sauna is a very fun face, with lots of character. Some of that character spilled into their type specimen book for the face. Entitled Read Naked, it features pages that can withstand the extreme temperatures of a Sauna, and, when steamed, reveal words not seen in room temperature. The fonts are masterfully created, and the price tag reflects that. They did, however, release a free pixel font called Unibody. They were recently recruited to create the new logo for MyFonts.com, which replaced the original placeholder. The logo shares a magic akin to the FedEx logo (i.e. it has a hidden quality to it). Underware won’t explicitly say what’s hidden, but their current homepage has an animation that might make it apparent.
