How does one memorialize a building with a history of hope and sadness, and infuse it with memories of the past and dreams for the future?
With life, with growth. With thousands of flowers.
Colossal, Christopher Jobson
Bloom, an installation piece by Anna Schuleit at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center (MMHC), features 28,000 potted flowers in almost every square foot of the building including corridors, stairwells, offices, and even the swimming pool. MMHC was slated for demolition to make way for updated facilities and there was a need for closure, reflection, and remembrance. Be inspired by Schuleit’s Bloom – a piece infused with life and hope.
